What your result means

The GST calculator separates the taxable value and GST amount or works backward from a tax-inclusive price. It is useful for quotes, invoices and quick price checks.

How this calculator works

For an exclusive price, GST equals taxable value multiplied by the selected rate. For an inclusive price, the tax portion is extracted using rate ÷ (100 + rate).

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between CGST, SGST and IGST?+

Intra-state supplies generally split tax between CGST and SGST, while qualifying inter-state supplies generally use IGST.

Can I claim the GST shown as input tax credit?+

Enter eligible ITC to see an indicative net cash liability. Eligibility depends on registration, business use, invoice compliance and statutory restrictions.

Does this include compensation cess and reverse charge?+

Yes, when you enter a cess rate or select reverse charge. Reverse charge changes who pays the tax, not the invoice tax amount.

Can I enter a multi-line invoice?+

Add the taxable values of lines using the same GST rate. Run separate calculations for lines with different rates.
